Minolta plus 50 mm lens, Ektachrome, 1968:      Wallops Island, on the East coast, did a lot of atmospheric testing in that era with sounding rockets. At it's altitude, the rocket would release, I believe Barium, into the atmosphere to observe how it reacted with the atmosphere at varying altitudes, and how & which way it would disperse. It was very startling when I first saw it, before I knew what it was.
